Three Bags Full Knitting Studio Knit Night 6/17

Please call us to reserve your spot for Friday's Knit Night at the Studio.  It is always inspiring and fun to get together in the Studio setting.
Linda's creating another masterpiece.  Lifelike creations just jump from her needles!   You can learn the art of "toy" making with Linda in one of her classes.
This Beautiful blanket is being knit by a customer who is donating it to Project Linus.  What a kind and lovely thing to do for children in Hospitals.
Penny is knitting a summery top.
This is GLOW by Helen Bingham.
Penny is a great teacher on our staff; she is
always encouraging and a wealth of knit knowledge.
On of Penny's students is knitting with Shibui Linen in rust, white and black.  Have you tried knitting with Shibui?  We have many ideas for you if you want a light summer project.
Another of Penny's students was knitting a lovely yellow blanket.
She has knit this pattern over and over and no longer needs to look at the instructions.
Inspiring?
 You Bet.

Happy Worldwide Knit in Public Day June 18th.
Hope your Saturday involves some knit time just for you or for the public.

June New Knits at the Studio

This darling baby blanket is knit up in Hikoo worsted.  Of course, it is machine washable.  It is very soft.  Lynette has rearranged the furniture today, so come on in and tell her how you like it.
Sock knitters!  Have you seen our Knitters Pride dpn tubes?
What better way to wrangle those feisty needles that like to get lost when they aren't being used?  They are just nine dollars and fifty cents for a package of 3.

Sarah's back and she knit up this Jujika Cowl using Heichi yarn for the fair isle.  The inside of the cowl was knit in Squishy by Anzula.
If you love geometrics, this is a rewarding knit.

Lynette knitted this Francesca Shawl.
The pattern is a Heidi Sharp Design.
It uses two skeins Baa Ram Ewe Titus fingering weight yarn.
Isn't it lovely?

Just a reminder we have sale yarns at almost all times in our back hallway.  We have a large selection of Dream in Color yarns to choose from.

Happy June!

Light and Lovely

As Spring turns to Summer many will be traveling light.
We have just the bags and totes that will keep your knitting safe and protected whether you are on the beach or in your own yard.
We have a wonderful selection of colors and sizes.
Take a look at them the next time you visit us.

Knitting socks in our hot Chicago summers just makes sense.
Light yarns and needles help you keep your cool while you craft all summer.
Many turn to sock knitting because it is so portable.
Our sock yarn inventory is full of options.
Fiber companies have listened to you and created self-striping patterns that make your socks pop.
Adrienne teaches sock classes if you are ready to conquer the world of socks, booties and stockings.

Need a button for that finished summer cardigan?
Our new display lets you look at options easily.
These beautifully crafted buttons are the perfect finish to your garment.
 Ready to knit something light?
We love Ito and have samples in the Studio to inspire you.
We look forward to helping you make your summer knit and crochet plans.

May Flowers

This lovely baby sweater is Liten Kafta in Sweet Georgia
Tough Love Sock Yarn (colorway petal) .
Sweet Georgia yarns are a new addition to the Studio and we love the colorways.
This beautiful new baby blanket in blue is from the The Baby Blanket Book.  It is knit with just 3 skeins Berroco Comfort.  It feels so very soft.
Adrienne knit this lovely  Lena Shawl in Cascade Echo Cloud.
It uses 9 skeins of yarn.  Pam Allen's HOME book pattern is not difficult according to Adrienne.  Come in and try it on, you'll want to knit one.
Adrienne's student Nancy knit this darling felted bag.
She washed it twice in her front loader and got just the right felt.
See Linda's sunflower pillow in color?
We love her choices and this is a class!

Happy May and Happy Mother's Day to all

Summery Shawls and Cowls

Amy Miller's Pendulum Shawl is an offering for a class by Adrienne.  You can choose from many of our sock yarns in solids or semi-solids to create your own summer shawl.
Adrienne has knit more than one and can help you as you learn the pattern.
Cowls aren't just for winter anymore.
This shop pattern can be knit up in Madelinetosh Merino Light for a soft stunning look.
By switching between two needles sizes as you knit, you create the pretty ruche pattern.  Knit on straights with an easy provisional cast on, you pull it all together with a woven kitchener stitch at the end.
Just the thing to wear with a sleeveless something on a chilly night at Ravinia...
If you haven't seen the Pincha Shawl yet, you'll want to get acquainted.  A Knitty Spring/Summer pattern for 2016 is stunning in your favorite multi -colorway.
This may be one you'll want to work on in an intermediate class offering.
The shawl uses the Fingering weight yarn of your choice.

Finally, Steven West Westknits Sharktooth pattern is also lighting up the internet.  His design is shown here in Madelinetosh Light;  we have many great Madelinetosh yarns for you in the Studio now.

Come in and make your Spring Summer knit plans with us.
Don't forget crochet....
we have Shibui Rain
that is perfect for summer shawls. Rain is light and works up beautifully.

We hope to see you soon.
